Direct Selling Events Special Coverage of CEDSA(Center of Excellence for Direct Selling in Academics)

Center of Excellence for Direct Selling in Academics(CEDSA) conducted a two day first of a kind exclusive direct selling conclave in the month of July,2022 in the Shoolini University, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, campus. With Chancellor, Prof. PK Khosla, Vice Chancellor, Prof Atul Khosla, President Innovation, Sh. Ashish Khosla and Pro-Chancellor,Sh. Vishal Anand along with key leaders across the direct selling industry participated in the two day long residential conclave which ended in fruitful discussions including team bonding sessions and gala dinner.

The central idea of the conclave was to bring the key stakeholders together and have in-depth discussion on rationale of the industry, challenges it faces & its solutions and the way forward. Dr. Kamal Kant Vashisth, Director, CEDSA, set the context for the conclave and what the participants can look forward to in the ensuing two days. Three panel discussions with experts across the spectrum gave many insights to the participants. Rajat Banerjee, Chairman, Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA), highlighted the need to be real and stay away from unnecessary hype. Key industry leaders like, Sh. Anil Narang, Sh. Surender Vats, Prof. Vasupalaiah, Sh.Sajeev  Nair(online) and all others shared about how positive they are about the industry and its potential. Golden Rudraksha Awards for exemplary work in their respective fields and their contributions to the industry was given to Sh. Deepak Bajaj, Sh. Surender Vats, Sh. Rajat Banerjee, Sh. Hem Kumar Pandey and Sh. Sameer Modi. A detailed report on the discussions and actionable output will be initiated for all the stakeholders soon.

The readers of Direct Selling Today can look forward to the upcoming report which shall present observations on the current situation, various challenges & its solutions recommended during the discussions and the way forward for the industry in this ever-changing and dynamic environment. Our participants and stakeholders recognised that the need of the hour is to have more awareness and shun practices which bring disrepute to the industry.

A healthy debate with our exclusive panel discussion was held on success ratios for a distributor and complete consensus on isolating mis-selling by any distributor or any direct selling entity. Our conclave shall be an annual event from now onwards which will bring all stakeholders together and work towards making direct selling as one of the career choices which the youth can look forward to.
